Andy Caldwell, Founder & CEO

A name synonymous with the halcyon days of deep house, Andy Caldwell is a Grammy-nominated producer with over two decades of experience in the music industry.

His original productions can be found on labels such as Toolroom, Naked Music, Yoshitoshi, OM Records, Murk, Ultra, Uno Recordings, and many more.

Andy has also collaborated with legends such as Kaskade, Morgan Page, and Zhu and has remixed the likes of Beyonce, Lenny Kravitz, and Foster the People.

In his role as CEO, Andy leads the team with his unique perspective gained from his years of experience as a professional music producer and DJ.

Adam Weimann, Co-Founder & COO

Adam is a professional music producer and educator known for his energetic contributions to LA’s electronic music community.

He is one-half of the DJ/Producer duo, Joluca, whose releases can be found on labels such as Insomniac, Club Bad, W&O Street Tracks, Desert Hearts, Fools Gold, Farris Wheel, and many more.

His music regularly sees support from some of dance music’s biggest DJs including Jamie Jones, John Summit, Melé, Solardo, and more.

In his role as COO, Adam works with the team to deliver the best experience possible for IO’s students and further develop the IO business and brand.

Josh Wen, Program Coordinator, Instructor (Building Blocks)

Josh is a professional producer, gigging musician, and AP-certified music theory teacher. As the instructor for Building Blocks, Josh is the first point of contact for many of our students – graciously helping students break through the many barriers to learning production and music theory.

Outside of IO, Josh produces jazz-fueled R&B and Hip/Hop for artists in the LA area and beyond.

Zack Johnson, Program Coordinator, Instructor (Making Waves, Sending Signals)

Zack is an experienced DJ, Music Producer, Songwriter, and Sound Designer. He has played Ultra Music Festival and SXSW, has produced songs with the likes of Diplo, and has released music on labels such as Fool's Gold, OWSLA, and Mad Decent.

Zack currently works as a professional producer, sound designer, and songwriter at the legendary studio Sound Factory and as an instructor at IO Music Academy.

He enjoys making weird sounds, drinking coffee, and taking his cat Sia on nature walks.

Juliet Mendoza, Instructor (Spin Class)

Juliet is a professional DJ with decades of experience and deep links to the roots of LA’s house music culture. With countless shows and parties under her belt alongside selectors such as Peggy Gou, Doc Martin, Marques Wyatt, Riva Starr, and DJ Heather, she brings invaluable experience to our DJ course.

She also recently became an Unsung Hero Winner for Defected Records becoming a resident and joining the Unsung Heroes Crew for 2022.

Gabe Lehner, Instructor (Vocal Chops, Claim Your Sound)

Gabe is a professional producer, singer/songwriter, and recording/mixing engineer. Better known as 9 Theory, Gabe has come into his own after numerous bands and musical projects as a renowned producer blending different genres of electronic, indie rock, and hip-hop into an original, unique sound.

With collaborations with artists such as Emancipator and over 200,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, Gabe is well equipped to helps students finish their music in Claim Your Sound and record professional vocals in Vocal Chops.

Jay-J, Instructor (Finishing Touches)

Jay-J is a Grammy-nominated house DJ and producer from San Francisco. He has released over 120 recordings since his 1995 debut. From his Moulton Studios, he has collaborated with producers and DJs, including Kaskade, Miguel Migs, Marques Wyatt, Halo, Julius Papp, Mark Grant and, Chris Lum.

As the instructor for Finishing Touches, Jay-J shares his passion for mixing and mastering with students looking to take their productions to the next level.
