Overview

Step into the world of synthesis and sound design with Sending Signals, an intermediate-level course designed for those ready to create their own sounds from scratch. Whether you're looking for Serum or Wavetable tutorials or want to satisfy your curiosity by creating custom patches on analog synths, this course will provide the tools and knowledge needed to take sounds out of your head and design sounds for any genre of music.

This course is perfect for producers with a solid understanding of music production fundamentals seeking to expand their sound design expertise. If you've ever wondered how to shape and mold sound like your favorite artists or how to recreate the iconic tones of classic and modern analog synths like the Roland Juno 106 or Moog Model D, this is the course for you. In 3 months, you'll go from foundational concepts like oscillators and filters to advanced techniques such as modulation and sound processing.

Class Topics

Synthesis Fundamentals: Learn how oscillators, filters, and envelopes shape sound, and gain hands-on experience designing your own patches in software and hardware synths.

Modulation & Movement: Explore LFOs, envelopes, and modulation matrices to add dynamic movement and complexity to your sounds, making them feel alive and expressive.

Drum Synthesis & Sound Design: Go beyond samples by synthesizing unique drum sounds, layering percussion, and shaping transients for a more customized approach to rhythm.

Hardware Integration & Sampling: Get comfortable sequencing, recording, and sampling from analog synths to incorporate classic and modern hardware tones into your productions.

Recreating & Transforming Sounds: Recreate iconic synth sounds from your favorite tracks and learn how to turn any sound into a playable instrument using sampling and synthesis.
