Free Masterclass with DJ Colette

IO Music Academy welcomes DJ Colette for our first Masterclass of Summer Quarter! Breaking into the Chicago underground house scene in the late 90s, Colette Marino cut her teeth DJing on vinyl and evolved into a seasoned songwriter and producer. RSVP in the Eventbrite link to learn how Colette wrote and licensed her songs, collaborates with other producers, and tours the world.

Colette formed the first all-female DJ group in the US called SuperJane with DJ Heather, DJ Dayhota, and Lady D in 1997. Her own music calls to mind a fusion of numerous decades of sounds--from 80s futurism of Kraftwerk, Africa Bambaataa, Adonis, and Romanthony to vocoder sounds from the 70s and house music from the 90s. With a career spanning over two decades, Colette maintains her title among the leading ladies of House.
